The Friends of Moraine Hills State Park
Outdoors is for Everyone!

Due to COVID 19 concerns, we will be unable to host this event this year. We are planning on reinstating this event in 2022.

The Friends of Moraine Hills State Park sponsors Outdoors is for Everyone. Participants with differing abilities and their families can join Naturalist Mary Colwell at the Northern Woods playground area to experience a variety of nature-themed sensory stations and leader-led activities. Families with a member needing ADA accommodations, individuals with a caregiver, and individuals with special needs are all welcome.

People of all ages can make their own animal tracks, feel soft fur, create plant/animal rubbings, guess what’s inside the Mystery Containers, and plant a flower for a pollinator! There will be eight to nine different stations to choose from.

For questions or inquiries to have this program at your location, either call our Volo Bog State Natural Area office at 815-344-1294, or email dnr.volobog@illinois.gov.
